Thumbnails - Variety

In sketchbooks, we can do variety of thumbnails to work on different aspects. Such as:
  • The thumbnail frame is important because we can imagine the play of size and positioning of our subject, composition and layout.
  • Study tones and values within the composition
  • Study angles of our subject (eg. there's minimum 9 views of a subject we could try)
  • Study depth (mid ground, foreground, background)
  • Study light and shadow
  • Study emphasis and focus
  • Zoom into closer details
  • Study texture, expressions and mannerisms etc
